Sausage Cheese Balls

Eat them while they are hot.
These are a holiday favorite of our family.

Tips

Have your cheese cold when grating
.
Have your sausage out at room temperature.  Take it out at least an hour before mixing.

I use my grater attachment to my KitchenAid Mixer it is quick and easy.

This mixture tends to be very dry and hard to mix together.  To make it easier you could do as I do:

Place half of the Bisquick, sausage and cheese into a food processor; Process/pulse just until the mixture begins to stick together and leaves the side of the processor bowl.

What you will need:

1 pound package ground sausage
3 cups Bisquick
4 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese

Preheat Oven to 375 degrees

Spray or grease baking sheets
Mix ingredients together either by hand or processor and shape into 1 inch balls.
Bake 15 to 18 minutes You will want them only lightly browned.  The bottom will be browner than top.  You don't want to overcook them.

These make very delicious Hors d' Oeuvres.  However they do not taste as good the next day or so.  You of course would have to refrigerate the leftovers.  They do freeze well though, for about a month.  They come out of the freezer tasting quite well.

Enjoy!
