Chicken Breasts in Slow Cooker for Use in Various Recipes

Today is just a simple, easy way to cook chicken breast in a slow cooker.  You can, of course, use the thighs and legs if you wish.  I just happen to use the breasts in my recipes.  This can be used in many recipes.  You, of course, can use fresh garlic, onion, and chili peppers, but today this is for quick and simple, plus I'm trying to use up those huge containers of minced onions and granulated garlic in my pantry.

Mild Flavor

Chicken (I used what would be equivalent to 3 whole chicken breasts)
1 cup water
1/2 tsp. granulated garlic
1 TBS. dry minced onion
1/2 tsp salt
Black pepper, a few grinds of fresh
1/2 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. chili powder
Pinch crushed red pepper
1/2 tsp. cumin

Place in the slow cooker, turn on high, and cook for 5-6 hours or overnight on low.  Cook until you can easily pull apart with a fork

Pull chicken breasts apart and reserve the broth for use in recipes

Use for any number of assorted recipes

I cooked on high today and pulled to use with vegetables and refried beans for a light supper.
You can take your pulled chicken add to a frying pan with bacon grease, warm and brown it to use in your recipes.  I did use the broth as an addition to chicken and vegetables when needed.
I also put back into the slow cooker in remaining broth to keep warm and serve later.

This is mild; you will want to add more seasonings for a stronger taste.  I have a taste for medium, so I even added more seasonings.

So many things you can make with the chicken.

Burrito
Soft Tortilla
Quesadilla
Chimchanga

Quick and Easy with a little preparation and a slow cooker...

Enjoy!
