I have been going through old recipes lately. It is a goal of mine to gather together and organize family recipes, other recipes. It may take longer than once thought.
Lately I have found several old Hershey's Recipes that are tried and true.
The following is one of them. Sorry for the dirty shape of the old recipe card, but it is a true representation of a good recipe....once again a chocolate cake.....
Hershey's Easy-Does-It- Recipe #1

Remove from mixer, stir in boiling water (batter will be thin) 4) Pour into two greased and floured 9" or three 8" layer pans or one 13" x 9" pan. 5) Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes for layers, 35 to 40 minutes for 13" x 9" pan or until cake in center comes out clean. 6) Cool 10 minutes on rack. 7) Remove from pans, cool completely. 8) Top with your favorite frosting.
