Strawberries are my most favorite fruit. I have always loved them. When I married and built a home there was no doubt in my mind that I would put Strawberry wallpaper in my new kitchen and of course it had to have red counter tops. That was the 70's.
What happened next after we moved into the new home was something I could not have imagined. Some innovative strawberry growers were branching out and decided that the land and the lake nearby on our family property would be perfect for irrigation. A strawberry pick you own farm a new idea at the time would be great.
Did that make me happy? You bet it did. I worked with these farmer friends for over twenty years and it became a part of my life. My pretty little girls grew up surrounded by strawberries and customers for friends. We all have very fond memories.
Cottle Farms is the name and they are still in business today. It is a family business based in Faison, North Carolina. You can read about them here if you wish to know more. We have farms in SC too: Florence and Columbia addresses here
