Cora's Lace Cornbread

Special Note* This cornbread will not rise.  It has no baking powder or baking soda.

1 cup yellow or white cornmeal plain
1/4 cup self rising flour
1 tsp. oil
1 pinch of salt
cold water as much as to your liking (the more you add the thinner the batter and cornbread; also the lacier the edges)
Mix Together

Extra oil for coating the frying pan.

Medium High Heat
Lightly oil pan (there again iron frying pan or griddle works the best but any non-stick frying pan will do)
When oil is heated little pour in your batter, either one large or small ones whichever you prefer.
Watch don't let burn.  You will want the edges to brown.  Loosen and look turn to brown other side.
Drain on paper towels if needed.
Serve warm
Be patient let it brown beautifully.  It will be tender on the inside and the edges will be crispy and  delicious!

Enjoy!
