MeatLoaf ~ dollys

Meat Loaf ~ Dollys standard recipe

Ingredients:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

1 1/2 lbs. ground chuck
3 tablespoons flour
1 egg
1/2 cup ketchup
1 medium yellow onion chopped finely
1 clove garlic minced
Sprinkle worcestershire sauce
sprinkle salt, pepper
*note*  If your ground beef is very lean add 1/4 milk for moisture.

For Cheesy Meatloaf  Add:

1 small bell pepper (optional)
1/4 lb sharp cheddar cheese cubed (optional)
 Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Directions:

Add the flour to the ground chuck mix lightly with fork
Let stand for at least 3 minutes

beat egg
add remaining ingredients
mix with wooden spoon, fork or your hands do not overwork the meat. Put into baking dish
Bake 1 hour or until juices run clear
If you do not have a pan with rack on bottom then you may want to use a baster or large spoon to get extra fat out of pan.

Cool meat loaf for about 10 to 15 minutes before slicing.

Lighter Version of Meat Loaf

Use ground round, sirloin, chicken, or turkey instead of ground chuck.
Add 1/4 cup milk beat with egg (this will add some moisture, because the meat will be so lean)
Try using only 1 tablespoon of flour added to meat.
Do Not add cheese

Enjoy,
