They were going to introduce a new product line
and asked if I would be willing to try it. I was asked to see if I like them and if I wished to do a review. Well that was a fun idea! Receive a new product from the best French Chef in America to try! I could make up my own ganache if I wanted; That was all it took! Yes please, send me those MakeCarons!
I must confess that I've never personally made a macaron. I had heard that they are really finicky. The weather has a lot to do with it. Mama and I have made things with egg whites such as divinity and certain meringue desserts but not macarons.
I am no chef but I do know when something tastes good and when it doesn't. I am my own worst critic and will be honest in a review.
The macaron made of ground almond flour, egg whites and sugar simple ingredients, then you may add flavorings and color to that. Sounds easy right? I think I will leave that one up to the great chef.

The texture, oh how do I explain if you have never eaten one? Smooth, soft crunch outer shell then a soft chewy melt in your mouth delicious! I can tell you this much, they are indescribably good!
Would I buy them? You bet! It is one of those things that is worth purchasing. I may one day make my own but why bother when the best chef in America makes them?

Ganache
Ganache is a glaze, icing, sauce, or filling for pastries made from chocolate and cream.
Ganache is normally made by heating cream, then pouring it over chopped chocolate of any kind. A sweet creamy chocolate mixture used especially as a filling or frosting
I tend to use whatever I have on hand in the house. We live far enough from the stores that it just is not worth making a trip unless it is an absolute necessity. It does tend to make one think twice about what they may need to stock in the pantry.
It was so much fun thinking of things to mix for the ganache. I used Francois's recipe directions and just added my ingredients in a smaller size. I didn't need a full sized recipe because I was going to make more flavors and had 24 macaron to use. I had to make them last because I wanted to experiment with different fillings etc.

This is my first experiment and I wanted it to say Dolly made this! Strawberries are a love of mine as most of you know. This is what I came up with quickly to express that.
My recommendation is this product is absolutely delicious!
I will buy them!
They make it extremely easy to make an elegant cookie!
