Homemade Laundry Scent Booster

Flavorings, Essential Oils, or a Combination of both

I found these and can't wait to try them

I'll save you some time if you have an old Downey Un stoppables bottle it will hold

2 cups of the large ground Epsom Salt Mixture

or up to 2 & 2/3 cups of smaller ground Epsom Salt

In this batch I made I used Orange Essential Oils, Vanilla and Butter Flavoring...Oh my gosh

you will want to eat it but Don't!

I also made a batch with butter, vanilla and lavender massage essential oil and it was wonderfully scented.

The only trouble with this is you have to be careful that you don't overpower your laundry with scent because it will take away from the perfume you wear. (it smells so darn good you might want your clothing to be your perfume...)

I am a very allergic person which if you follow my blogs you already know, but this is natural and doesn't bother my sinuses at all.

Another added plus is that the salts does soften the laundry further.

1.  Place the amount of Epsom Salts that you want to use in a bowl.

2.  Keep this in mind** Essential oils are 4 times stronger than flavorings/extracts**

Watkins flavorings work well for this because they are double strength. 
3.  Choose what oils/extracts you wish to combine

4. Stir in a little at a time

(I use a butter knife to stir and a small wisk to mix thoroughly)

Use in the wash:  1/8 cup for large load of laundry

less for smaller loads

That is all there is to it...

This is one of those things that you can vary scents anytime and costs much less than those store bought Downy or Purex brands...Also if you make your own laundry detergents then you may notice that you need a little scent booster... 

I love it my daughter came home from school and said others wanted to know what that great smell was.  She told them that it was a homemade laundry scent that her mama had made..
