**note I used frozen in this recipe and of course fresh would have made a prettier display on top***
Cake
1 box Duncan Hines Cake Mix
3 tbsp. plain flour
1 package strawberry Jello
1/2 cup hot water
3/4 cup cooking oil
3/4 cup mashed strawberries
4 eggs
In a large bowl mix dry ingredients. In a sauce pan dissolve Jello in hot water. When dissolved pour into dry mixture, add remaining ingredients, stirring well and then pour into two 9" pans.
Bake st 350 degrees for 30 minutes
Icing
1 box powdered sugar
1/2 cup strawberries mashed
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 stick margarine or butter melted.
Mix ingredients together and spread on cake. If strawberries are very juicy use 1/4 cup.
Please be sure to refrigerate because of the strawberries in icing.

I have cooked this recipe for many, many years. I sold this cake to many people and never could keep up with the number the public wanted to buy. It is an extremely rich cake but delicious.
