Seasoned Steamed Green Beans

Grow your own in season if possible or buy from your local farmer's market.
That is where these came from because mine haven't made yet.
These were particularly young, small and crisp.

When they aren't in season in your area these can be found from time to time
I found these at our local Sam's Wholesale in the off season.

Ingredients
1 Pound Small whole green beans, ends trimmed
1/4 stick butter (2Tbs.)
1 clove garlic chopped/crushed
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
1 Tablespoon light brown sugar

Instructions
Steam green beans 2 minutes
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter Add remaining ingredients stirring to combine, heat through until boiling.
Pour butter sauce over the steamed green beans mixing thoroughly.

Fast Easy Instructions
Place beans in steamer or microwave safe dish
Add the rest of the ingredients
Heat 5 minutes
Stir or shake container to mix all

There you have it! Wonderful, tasty green beans.  These taste similar to the Outback Green Beans.

Product Review:

I would like to show you what I use to steam my veggies.  Below you see a Pampered Chef Steamer Large Micro-Cooker.  My daughter Carly gave this to me, and I use it all of the time. It works really well.

Easy, quick and I love the holes on top for steaming, straining and draining.

 Very convenient.
I do recommend it highly for use in the microwave of course.

Tonight we had a salad bar with seared salmon, roasted asparagus, the seasoned steamed beans, lots of veggies plus chopped delicious ripe pears and pitted fresh cherries.

Guess you can tell we are loving salmon right now.  I have always loved fish of all types.  Trouble is I love them fried and on the bone most of the time.  Guess I can't help that because my daddy loved fish.  He loved fishing catching his own and having fish fries.  I can still remember watching him scale them and fry them up.

Enjoy,
