Dolly Is Cooking: Product Review: Silicone Cooking Gloves

Today I review the product Silicone Cooking Gloves. I rarely wear even a cooking mitt in cloth and primarily use hot pads. This would be a challenge but then again I love a challenge....

I do cook constantly so this should be fun! I have extremely small hands and fingers. I was concerned that they wouldn't fit well enough to use. They were a little bit bundlesome, but then a cotton mitt is too. These fit no differently.

Chuck used them one night to take something hot out. They worked well for him.

I started using to remove things from the oven and think in time I will really enjoy these! The best thing I have recently found out while using them is this:

I thought I'd put the tips of my fingers in very hot water just to test. Maybe a crazy move but not really. I did not feel a thing. I had been canning all day and this water may not look like it but it was extremely hot.

Another shot of fingertips in water. I actually forgot to take a picture of me sticking my hand in when I refilled the pot and heated it full. I did stick my hand into it and felt nothing.

Here is a shot of me canning and using the glove to hold very hot jars that are going into the hot water bath. I felt nothing and the glove gives a very good grip on whatever you are holding. You can judge by my tiny arms that my hands are small. I have long slender fingers but this glove worked fine!

The best thing I will use them for is removing my canning jars from the oven where I keep them hot to use for canning. Usually I grab a hot pad because I find it difficult to use a jar lifter in the oven to remove the Hot jars. This glove is wonderful for that and allows me to move more quickly in the canning process. They are great for removing a hot frying pan from the stove. There is less chance for being burned that is for sure.

There are so many more uses for this item and I intend to try them. I just went to the Amazon site where these are located. I for the first time read some reviews and looked at the pictures. I don't like to do that before a review because I want to rate a product according to my thoughts about that product. I don't want anyone's ideas to make me think in other directions. I know I will enjoy these! There is a 100% Lifetime Warranty!
