I thought I'd share an easy quick way to make meatballs. We love spaghetti around here and meatballs are a good thing too. The only trouble is that you may want to eat them all up before you put them into the sauce.
Cooking the meatballs in an electric frying pan 350 degrees
I cooked these for about 15 minutes turning to brown on all sides.
You can cook them in the oven if you'd rather: 20 minutes at 400 degrees
MEATBALLS
What you will need:
2 pounds ground beef
3 -5 slices day old bread plus 1/2 cup bread crumbs
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon red pepper
1 tablespoon flour
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 eggs beaten
2 tablespoons minced onion
4 cloves garlic minced
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
**note** You could add ground Italian Sausage, oregano, basil too if you wish...
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Take the bread slices ( Italian Bread or what you have on hand. I used what I had on hand white butter bread)
- Hold them quickly under warm water to wet and soften.
- Carefully squeeze the water out of the bread in your hands.
- take your hands and mix the bread in with the ground beef; kneading and mixing thoroughly into the meat
- Add the two beaten eggs continuing the mixing thoroughly
- Add the 1 tablespoon of flour, mixing well.
- Combine the onion, garlic, parsley 1/2 bread crumbs,(1 hb bun is 1/2 cup) cheese and seasonings together
- Add to beef and mix well
- shape into 2" balls or size of your choice. (I used a 2" cookie scoop)
- Fry or bake as directed above.
I canned some sauce here, so that is what I used today. Chuck makes a wonderful sauce here.
