Milk Cow Kitchen by MaryJane Butters

This book was a gift of sorts.  I won it from MaryJane Butters.  Yes, you could say I was plum excited when I did.  Come on in the kitchen and I'll tell you all about this wonderful lady and the Milk Cow Kitchen Book.....
Years ago in our local Belk Department Store mama and I noticed some really beautiful bedding, towels and etc. for the home.   The items were made by MaryJaneFarms from organic materials. The one word to describe these items would be beautiful.
It wasn't long after that I discovered the magazine.  It is filled with useful and fun things that we all can use.  Also made from recycled paper.
I knew of the MaryJanesFarm Sisterhood but it took many years for me to join.  Don't ask me why because I couldn't tell you.  I'm so glad I did though because I have met some of the nicest people alive in this group.  I've been a member for a few years now and MaryJane shares our blog posts at GirlGab.com.  Do yourself a favor and join us anytime for great information, fun times and just all around good people.  Thank you MaryJane!

 Milk Cow Kitchen

My Grandma Cora had a Jersey Cow that she called "Sookie"  I always wanted, in fact still do want a cow like that.  You can see her and grandpa on this post I Want a Cow!
I remember grandma's sweet cream butter and that all of the neighbors couldn't get enough of it.  I watched her make it but was young so I don't remember how.

This book shows you how to make butter, cheese, buttermilk, sour cream, yogurt as well as many recipes to use those wonderful products.  Wouldn't it be great to actually own your cow, use the milk for these?  That is still my dream.  Anyway this book is filled with lots and lots of recipes!

I'll leave you with a video that tells some things about MaryJane Butters and what she does.  It is pretty old and there is no TV Show but it is still a good look at the family farm.
