Eggs
There is nothing prettier than eggs from different breeds of chickens. Spring time brings out the largest most colorful eggs for sure. We do have a few hens and so enjoy the wonderful eggs. It makes cooking and baking so much fun to know you won't run out of the most delicious bright yellow almost orange yolked eggs. If you have your own you know what they are fed and how they are housed. They have 1/3 less the cholesterol of factory farmed eggs:
• 1⁄3 less cholesterol• 1⁄4 less saturated fat• 2⁄3 more vitamin A• 2 times more omega-3 fatty acids• 3 times more vitamin E• 7 times more beta carotene
I like to decorate with them sometimes in my crafts as last years wreath nest shown below:
Today is Good Friday and another tradition is for me to share an Easter Egg that came up with a design all on it's own. I like to say Jesus was speaking to Catie and me that day and we will never forget it...not ever.
The story behind this little white bantam egg that I dropped in coffee for dyeing...well you can read about it: One Good Friday http://bit.ly/1bUgmVh
