Sloppy Joseph's or Joes

My sweet & a little spicy Sloppy Joes

My girls always liked Sloppy Joes and yes they had a Manwich or two growing up too. They called them Sloppy Josephs'.
Did you know they used to call it a "Loose Meat Sandwich"?  They did  and it's most basic, the Joe is a sandwich made with ground beef and tomato sauce.  Some say the original Sloppy Joe was made in an Iowa cafe by an man named Joe in the 1930s.
Wherever it got it's name and start a good ole Sloppy Joe can be quite tasty at times.  I chose to add peppers and diced tomatoes with green chilies for a little kick.  If you want more of a kick add more chilies, chili powder and hot sauce.

I Now Begin My Pie Crust Journey!

Making a good pie crust, that is something I personally haven't done enough to master.  In all my years I haven't made the effort to do so.  That is going to change!

Today I share this because something so simple I have been lazy about making.  I guess it has just been so easy to pick one up from the grocery store.  When they started making the ones in the box and my girls like them better, I figured why not buy.

I now want to master the best pie crust ever so will share a few pie crusts videos from time to time so that I will have a reference to go by and you will too is you want it.

I will master this! Can you hear Indiana Jones music playing?  It is in my head....

By the way please share your pie crust making if you will so I can get tips in that way!

Have a good Baking Day!

Enjoy!

Homemade Chick Fil A Sandwiches

We really like Chick-fil-A in this family.  It is just plain good!  Today I share this copycat recipe for their sandwich which is not my personal recipe it is Todd Wilbur's and the link can be found below.  I own most of his cookbooks and have yet to make anything in them that doesn't come pretty close if not exactly to the taste of the originals.

Homemade Dry Onion Soup Mix

Homemade Dry Onion Soup Mix
Simple, Easy, Handy!

I must confess for years and years I've purchased Lipton's Dry Onion Soup Mix.  It has been almost a staple in my pantry.  You know the kind of item that you want on hand for a quick ingredient to add flavor to so many dishes.  I also must confess that I never use it for making soup.  I'd rather make my own fresh onion soup.
I have made my share of pot roasts with the stuff over the years that and cream of mushroom soup of course added to a slow cooker.  I should own stock in Campbells and Lipton.
It has taken me a number of years to just flat say I'm tired of running out of the dry onion soup. Finally not too many months ago I came up with not so ingenious idea but it is 'OH SO GOOD".
