Ham Noodle Casserole

Ingredients
2 cups chopped smoked ham
8 oz. noodles of your choice
2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 soup can whole milk
1/2 stick butter
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

  • Cook noodles according to package directions and drain.  I used Fratelli Carli Penne Rigate Noodles for mine.  Remember use what you have on hand.
  • While noodles are cooking Chop your ham. I baked a smoked ham and cut it off the bone to use for this.
  • Grate your cheese
  • Place your casserole baking dish in oven with 2 Tbs. butter in bottom just until melted.
  • Place a very small amount of grated cheese on bottom of dish
  • Put soup and  soup can of whole milk into a small sauce pan on medium low. Whisk until smooth.  Watch and turn to low when blended well.
  • Layer half of noodles, top with half of the chopped ham, top with half of cheese, top with half of the soup/milk mixture. Sprinkle small amount of salt and pepper.  
  • Finish with last layer switching soup and cheese making the cheese the final layer.
  • Top with 2 Tbs. of butter cut into small sections.
Bake covered with foil or a lid 18 minutes or until hot and bubbly all over
Remove foil and finish baking 10-12 minutes or so until lightly browned.
